We are seeking an experienced Systems Manager, with relevant sustainment experience including knowledge of Defence Capability Life Cycle (CLC) and Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC), to operate as an embedded part of the team. This position will provide specialist advice to support requirements, planning, monitoring and controlling of products.
The System Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision making and judgement to support capability sustainment requirements in line with stakeholder requirements. They will have in-depth knowledge of the Defence Capability Life Cycle and are responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to the function of capability sustainment. They will provide detailed product management technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant industry and/or domain work experience, and current relevant project management experience
Recognised project management professional qualification (e.g. Australian Institute of Project Managers (AIPM))
Understanding of the content of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and its application to the Defence project management environment and Project Management Methodology (PMMv2)
Ability to solve complex problems and manage issues to support delivery of capability, including understanding of the technical, operational and logistical requirements
Ability to investigate, refine and resolve complex issues
Ability to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives
Plans, schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets
Rapidly absorbs new information and applies it effectively
Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Takes initiative to keep skills up to date, maintaining awareness of developments and continuous improvement opportunities
Evaluates and ensures that the capability sustainment meets requirements in line with legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks
Ability to analyse, develop and implement work plans to support delivery of outcomes
Understanding of modern networking, computers and operating systems
An understanding or user level experience of relevant application(s) such as Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS)
Defence and/or CASG experience
Understanding of land material technical integrity in line with the Technical Regulatory Framework (TRF) – Land Material Safety Manual (LMSM)
