Tara is a logistics consultant at Lumify People. She is a people-focused leader and manager who brings to the table a diverse work history over the past 16 years in the healthcare and training sectors and serves in the Australian Defence Force.
She has performed various roles, including that of Pharmacist, Army Officer, Logistics Manager and Workplace Systems Trainer, honing her leadership and management skillset.
She began her career as a clinical pharmacist at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She then worked as a dispensary pharmacist in South Australia and continues to see patients part-time as a Consultant Pharmacist.
She later took the leap to logistics when an opportunity to receive training from Lumify (Previously DDLS) presented itself. The position required basic knowledge of Defence logistics and workplace training qualifications. Tara jumped on board, combining her previously acquired skills and expertise to add value to any team she supports.
Within a military workplace environment, she has initiated cultural change to develop individual and future leaders. She has also ultilised contemporary leadership principles to implement cultural change, creating a more supportive and cohesive working environment with excellent training.
In uniform, Tara has deployed to the Middle East three times. Each deployment was a unique experience, managing pharmaceutical logistics in a hostile environment and carrying protective equipment. Working with a multinational team was one of the highlights of each deployment.
Outside of Lumify People, Tara is actively involved with her four children's school activities. She has coached several different kids' netball teams - an extension of her work in training and development and a wonderful way to practice different leadership and team engagement techniques.
She also has a small business on the side where she manufactures bedding for children which she distributes globally.
On Lumify People (previously known as DDLS People):
I enjoy training and have a passion for leadership. I think to be a good leader, you also must be able to teach so that individuals can develop to their full potential. The Lumify space is all about helping other people to understand new concepts, and new ideas and build new skills. This works in a synergistic way with my military career. They both require excellent communication, an understanding of what skill level an individual has, and then helping them to progress to the next level.
